Planning the mission, then flying it.
Mission Ops starts years before anything launches. Simulating orbits and passes, analysing what the spacecraft can actually accomplish, and turning that into the plan every other subteam designs against.
Then it flies the thing. SCALAR will pass overhead several times a week and each pass is short, so Ops writes the procedures, holds the licences, and trains the people who sit at the console and send commands correctly the first time.
You do not need prior experience. Applications open at the start of each semester, and we take people from every school and year.
